Signature at Surbiton – Facilities

Grand Lobby, Reception, Café & Corner Cosy

Upon entering the Grand Lobby, the first impression will be the warm welcome of the receptionist and the bustling lively atmosphere of the area. The home’s concept of the ‘The Good Life’ is reflected through the introduction of
quality finishes and soft furnishings, creating a welcoming, bright and spacious atmosphere. The design details take inspiration from the architecture of the building it sits within, a focal point being the octagonal shape seen in the coffers in the ceiling and the columns situated in the Grand Lobby. Located near to reception is the café, a social
space where residents can be involved in the day-to-day comings and goings of the home. A mixture of seating options provides quiet and secluded areas to relax, as well as seating groups positioned to allow residents and guests to be at the heart of the goings on within the home and watch the world go by.

Lounge

The design of this comfortable space, located near the Café, is based on the tranquility of the Hogsmill River that runs through Surbiton and is where Millais created his painting Ophelia. The calm colours provide a quiet area away from the main hustle and bustle of the Grand Lobby, whilst still maintaining a visual connection. With a variety of seating options, this space has the flexibility to be a space for residents to read a book or watch the TV, but also a place for activities and sit with family and friends. The addition of a projector screen in this space allows for movies to be shown, sporting events to be broadcast and small performances to take place.

The design creates a warm and welcoming atmosphere, with space to enjoy a meal in comfort. Varied seating options encourage social engagement for those who wish and a more private experience for those who simply prefer their meals in peace. The result ensures that the dining experience forms one of the most important parts of the resident’s day.
